ECC is a privately owned and operated global producer of reliable, high-performance, colorable, pelletized compounds.

For more than a quarter century, ECC has provided innovative polymeric solutions that exceed rigorous industry standards. ECC offers its own proprietary product line as well as custom mixing services.  Examples of materials produced include elastomeric and polyolefin based cross-linkable and thermoplastic compounds.

ECC’s unmatched product quality, continuous improvement, and technical expertise results in products with characteristics that include a unique combination of flexibility, electrical performance, aging stability, processability and more.           

ECC’s highly skilled, knowledgeable staff and a comprehensive laboratory, which includes pilot scale production equipment, provide research and material evaluation resources to continuously develop innovative solutions to advance in the field of rubber and plastics technology.  Experienced chemists and technicians provide customers with timely technical assistance for product support as well as the design and development of custom compounds to meet their specific needs and applications.

ECC Timeline

1988

 ECC is Established

  • Founded by former GE wire and cable employees.
  • Focused on specialty compounds for Wire and Cable industry.

2000

 Purchased A. Schulman W&C Division

  • Relocated to Seymour, CT and expanded manufacturing capacity.
  • Expanded sales to domestic and global customer base.

2002

 Pioneered Environmentally Friendly Solutions

  • Developed and commercialized environmentally friendly compound solutions for Wire and Cable industry.

2006

 Relocated to Current, Custom-built Facility

  • Built a 65,000 square foot non-carbon black compounding facility in Naugatuck, CT.
  • Developed flexible moisture curable polymer systems.
  • Expanded compounding capability to masterbatches and concentrates.

2010

 Commercialized Flexible, Moisture Curable Technology

  • Installed new process to chemically modify polymers for moisture curing properties.

2012

 Installation of First Continuous Compounding Line

  • Expanded production capacity, and diversified product offerings.

2016

 Further Expansion of Masterbatch Compounding Capabilities

2018

 Commissioned Pilot Compounding Line

  • Improved flexibility for producing small lots of newly developed and custom compounds.

2019

 Commissioned Pilot Wire Line

  • Increased capabilities for end-use testing.
